2nd attack on London Mission upsets India
Blames ‘Pak-incited’ elements, asks UK to take punitive action
New Delhi, September 4, 2019: India today expressed strong reservations over the second attack in a month on the iconic “India House” in London, which houses its High Commission, blamed “Pakistan-incited” elements for the “unruly” demonstration and “vandalism” and asked the UK to take punitive action against those involved in the aggressive posturing outside its premises.
Thousands of people led by British-Pakistani groups held a protest outside the Indian Embassy on Tuesday against the withdrawal of special status and lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir. The same day two British MPs tried to corner the government on the issue but Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab maintained it was a bilateral matter. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said India considered these incidents “unacceptable”.
