Bulandshahr Violence: Yogi changes ‘Accident’ to ‘Political Conspiracy’

Earlier  Adityanath had denied the violence was a case of mob lynching but said it was an accident.

New Delhi, Dec 19: The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his latest comments has called the Bulandshahr violence a well-planned “political conspiracy”. The statement comes weeks after he had earlier passed the same away as an accident.

“The December 3 (Bulandshahr) violence is a political conspiracy (hatched) by those who have lost political ground,” he told reporters after the Assembly was adjourned for the day amid Opposition ruckus.

“It was a political conspiracy which has been exposed… peace and order will be maintained at all cost… the administration and government have repulsed the designs (of conspirators) sternly,” Adityanath said.

Earlier, when Adityanath finally broke his silence over the incident he said it was not a case of mob lynching. “It was an accident,” he said, adding that everyone responsible will be punished and not be spared.

On December 3, over 400 people had run amok in Bulandshahr after after cow carcasses were found near the city. During the violence, inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and a 20-year-old man died due to gunshot wounds. Singh and his team had gone to the area to tackle the mob when they came under attack.

The mob, according to the police FIR, had men from right-wing Hindu outfits, who had also blocked policemen from taking the cop and the youth for treatment, resulting in his death. The police have booked 90 men over the incident. The suspects include members of the BJP Yuva Morcha, the VHP and the Bajrang Dal.
