Unlike Andy, she stands up for her beliefs and has been a fearless advocate for working families and minorities, leading policy innovation for 30 years that addresses economic and racial justice.
She holds a PhD in Global Affairs and Political Science and currently serves as a faculty member and the executive director of the Worker Institute-Cornell university where she leads research on the economy and Worker rights and equity. She has been courageous and principled in her call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. She joined Sen Sanders in calling for the stop of funding to Israel until it respects international human rights laws and stops the indiscriminate bombings in Gaza killing women, children and civilians. Her experience as a survivor of the brutal civil war in El Salvador has enshrined in her a deep belief that elected leaders must always seek diplomatic and political solutions to the world’s conflict.
